This tutorial was made with an A112 airbrush from prince august and Raphael paintbrush (size 1 and 0).

Lets get started!

1. I first primed the bases in black and did a preshading with a can of white. It will help me with applying my next colours and add some depth and variety to the floor.

2. I airbrushed the base in Vallejo Blue, focusing on the edges of the slabs. We're going to put clear colours at the center of the slabs so it's easier if it's already like that.

3. Still with the airbrush, I used this time Vallejo Light Sea Blue. Like I said in the previous step, we're going to focus on the middle of the larger slabs. Start from the center and make a wide circle from there.

4. With a 1/1 mix of white and Light sea blue, airbrush the center of the slabs and the broken edges.
Now with a paintbrush I apply GW Drakenof Nightshade in the recesses. Leave some of the cracks without shade, we'll work on them later.

5 and 6. Apply a basecoat of GW Rakarth flesh on the skulls and the bone spikes and add a shade of GW Agrax Eartshade.

7 and 8. The gold was done with a basecoat of GW Retributor Armor followed by a shade of GW Agrax Earthshade.

9. With a 1/1 of white and GW Rakarth flesh, I highlighted the skulls and bone spikes.

10. The stone was highlighted with a 3/2 mix of white and GW Lothern Blue on the lighter areas and a 1/1 mix of the same colours for the rest.  For the mercury lake, I started with a basecoat of GW Leadbelcher

11. Apply a shade of GW Nuln Oil on the leadbelcher.
For the tentacle, you'll first need to basecoat it with some GW Celestra Grey.

12 and 13. Then, apply a shade of GW Carroburg Crimson on the flesh. It will have a grey-ish tone thanks to the celstra grey.
Once it's dry, highlight the tentacle with a 2/1 mix of white and GW Screamer Pink. For this, I drew a circle around the "scales" and filled some of them with the same colour. I gives variety to these mutations.
Paint the spikes and eye in black.

14. To finish the tentacle, add a dot of white on the eye and apply gloss varnish on the flesh. It will look like a gross thing coming out of the mercury lake, who knows what creature can live in a such hostile environment!
I finished the metal parts with a highlight of GW Stormhost silver. A few lines on the gold parts and a nice layer on the edge of the mercury lake.

Remember the cracks I told you to leave ? Well now it's time to work on the final part ! First fill these cracks with white. It's easier to airbrush a clear color with white underneath.

15. With Vallejo Sunset red, airbrush the cracks. I suggest you to start from a large distance and gradually get closer and more precise . The goal here is to have a nice and easy OSL.
Finally, draw thin lines of white in the middle of the cracks. It makes the color pop and looks more like the crack is emitting light.

Voilà, I hope it was helpfull !
